On 16 January 2016, a new permanent exhibition entitled ’Land. Life. Story.’ will open at the University of Tartu Natural History Museum. This long-awaited exhibition will unite the fields of geology, zoology, botany, and mycology. The exhibition is divided by theme across three halls. The path to be taken by visitors starts with the Big Bang, and then the development of Earth’s history and ecology. The biological diversity hall will contain an overview of diversity and the origins of all natural life for the visitor. In the life patterns hall you will find dioramas that represent natural communities, along with huge skeletons, and a live nature corner.
Visitors are offered thematic trips, and temporary exhibitions will be organised, as will thematic days and discussion evenings with researchers in natural sciences. Businesses or offices may conduct seminars, workshops, or mini-conferences in the University of Tartu Natural History Museum. Schools may order educational programmes so that pupils are able to expand their knowledge about natural life.
